the brief

SUBSTRATE — THE BRIEF

Substrate is a precision-extracts brand built around a sci-fi materials-science aesthetic — Aesop's lab line meets a Tesla owner's manual. The brief called for typography-forward packaging with no illustration, a strict grid, and a holographic chrome treatment that reads as engineered, not novelty.

how we did it

THE STORY.

Vape packaging usually defaults to either medical (sterile, anonymous) or rave (gradient, holographic, loud). Substrate splits the difference: the discipline of medical packaging applied with the swagger of a luxury sci-fi product. The pack ID code, the typographic grid, and the hairline data-bar do all the storytelling.
